Foreytor (ger. vorreiter, from vor – forward и reiter – rider) – is a horse rider, sitting on one of the first horses in a team.
Foreytors were mainly used in the following situations:
- When carriage was not capable of difficult part of the way, foreytors were involved as an additional horse with its rider;
- When coachman couldn’t reach front horses with his whip risking to lose control, foreytor rode one of first horses and controlled them.
